The Oculus Rift continues to be the virtual reality device that's supposed to drive the technology revolution in the coming years but plenty of fans are getting anxious about the fact that the platform lacks a clear price and a launch date, even if the final development model has been making its way into the hands of game creators.

Company leader Palmer Luckey is now suggesting that those looking to get more information might have it by the end of the coming CES event, which runs from January 6 to January 8 in Los Angeles.

Commenting on a player started rumors that this is the venue where the Oculus Rift will deliver a full reveal about its future, including the price of its core customer package and when pre-order can be placed for it, the developer seemed to acknowledge that this might be a good moment for a reveal.

Representatives from the company have not officially confirmed that they have big plans for CES, but they continue to say that they are planning to deliver more information soon after New Year's, which probably means before the end of January.

The Oculus Rift price reveal and launch date announcements do not mean all the tech that the virtual reality revolution requires is ready.

The company has made it clear that the special hand tracking controllers, the Oculus Touch, might not arrive before the fall of this year because testing has revealed changes to their ergonomics and their general mechanics need to be made.

Palmer Luckey has also suggested that the price of the Oculus Rift might be higher than some gamers might be expecting, with analysts saying that it might be revealed as more than 400 dollars or Euro.

Lucky's Tale will be part of every launch package

The team working on the Oculus Rift and the developers at Playful are also announcing that Lucky's Tale will be offered for free with every new device that gamers buy, challenging them to find new ways to explore a world that is constantly evolving around them.

Palmer Luckey states, "We always believed there was an opportunity for platformers in VR, but it wasn’t until playing Lucky’s Tale and working with the Playful team that we truly realized its potential to change how people view this genre of gaming forever. Lucky’s Tale delivers on everything you want in a next-generation VR game - it’s thrilling, full of adventure, and incredibly fun to play."

The video game is just one of a bigger wave that seeks to use virtual reality to deliver experiences that are both classic and engaging for players.

One of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of the VR revolution is the limited number of high-profile titles that will support it when it launches.

The Oculus Rift has been bought by Facebook, which has long-term plans to use the tech to improve user communication and interaction.

The device is facing competition from the Vive, created by HTC and Valve and also delayed into 2016, the PlayStation VR for the PlayStation 4, and other platforms from smaller developers.
