Meizu's PRO 6 Flagship Rumored To Ship With 6GB Of RAM

Meizu was one of the fastest growing smartphone manufacturing companies last year, if not the fastest growing one. This company was fairly unknown a couple of years ago, and then they began to grow extremely fast. Meizu has sold 4.4 million smartphones in 2014, and last year they managed to ship 20 million units. The company did not release a single device thus far this year, but chances are we’ll get to see a couple of them announced in the next couple of months.

One of the devices Meizu will introduce in the coming months is one of their flagships for 2016, the Meizu MX6. The company has introduced the MX5 in July last year, but judging by the recent rumors, the MX6 might arrive sooner than expected. Some rumors are claiming that the phone might launch in May, though we still don’t know how accurate is that info. Anyhow, earlier MX6 launch certainly makes sense considering Meizu plans to release the PRO 6 phablet in Q3 or Q4 this year, so it might be wise to launch the MX6 early this time around.

Speaking of the Meizu PRO 6, a new rumor surfaced, and interesting enough, it claims that the PRO 6 might ship with 6GB of RAM. This would be really surprising a couple of weeks ago, but considering the fact that Vivo already released their Xplay 5 handset which not only sports a ‘Dual Edge’ display, but it also comes with 6GB of RAM. Now, take this info with a grain of salt though, 4GB of RAM is still way more probable than 6GB of RAM, but who knows.

Anyhow, according to previous info, Samsung’s yet announced Exynos 8870 64-bit octa-core processor might fuel the Meizu PRO 6. The Meizu PRO 5 was fueled by the Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor, which was Samsung’s flagship SoC for 2015, and also one of the best processors of last year. The device will almost certainly going to be made out of metal, just like its predecessors, and you can expect it to come with either a fullHD or QHD 5.7-inch+ display. Android Marshmallow will probably come pre-installed on this phone, though we still don’t know which version of Flyme will be available on top of it. Meizu has introduced Flyme 5 lats year, and it is currently available for MX5 and PRO 5 devices, we’re not sure if the company intends on releasing Flyme 6 before the PRO 6 announcement (or will they announce it at the same time), but that is highly likely.
