Dell’s upcoming Latitude 7285 is a 12 inch tablet with a detachable keyboard dock… which would hardly be enough to make a device stand out in 2017.

But the Latitude 7285 has something special: wireless charging. It uses WiTricity’s Airfuel-certified wireless charging system to automatically charge the battery when the computer is placed on top of a charging pad.

The Latitude 7285 will be available in June, but Dell is showing off at CES this week.

The tablet is powered by Intel Kaby Lake processors with vPro, features a Sharp IGZO display with resolutions up to 3K (which I think means 2880 x 1620), and Dell will offer several different keyboard dock options.

On display at CES is the wireless charging keyboard base. Place the keyboard on top of the charging pad and the battery will automatically start to refuel. If the tablet is plugged into the keyboard at the same time, power will flow to the tablet first and then the keyboard.

Interestingly, this keyboard base only supports wireless charging, but Dell says there will be other options that can also take wired input.

Pricing and other details will be revealed at a Dell World event in May.
