Albeit being launched last year, the LG G Pad 8.3 is one of the worthier 8-inchers on the market, coming with a decent set of specs and price tag.

Anyway, the LG G Pad 8.3 already received the Android 4.4 KitKat update, showing the company is keeping its interest for the tablet alive. Now LG is pushing another software update which brings the Knock Code feature to the tablet, reports TheMetro.

Knock Code was first spotted with the LG G Pro 2 smartphone and expands on the Knock On feature the tablet already comes equipped with, giving the users the ability to tap in a pattern in order to unlock their device. This will add an extra level of security to your device and it is thought of as a Morse-like layer of security.

The update will arrive over-the-air (OTA) so keep an eye out for a notification alerting you the new piece of software was arrived onto your device. Or you can be proactive and manually check for it in the Settings section.

The LG G Pad 8.3 is a capable tablet with an 8.3-inch display, boasting a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). The slate is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor combined with 2GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of storage (expandable via microSD card).
