The Lenovo Tab S8 is an Android tablet with an 8 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

Lenovo unveiled the tablet in September, and now it’s on sale in the United States. You can pick one up from Best Buy for $200.

At that price this Android tablet costs more than some Windows models — but that’s not surprising since Microsoft is literally giving away Windows licenses to makers of low-cost tablets.

But it might be worth considering an Android model anyway. The Lenovo Tab S8 has a higher-resolution screen than most Windows tablets in its price range, and 2GB of RAM rather than 1GB.

It also has stereo front-facing speakers, an 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera, and access to the more than a million apps available from the Google Play Store.

The Lenovo Tab S8 has a micro USB port, a microSD card slot, and a 4290 mAh battery for up to 7 hours of battery life. It measures about 0.3 inches thick and weighs 10.6 ounces.

  1. Would buy it instantly if I knew I could install Windows 8.1.

There are basically no cheap tablets for Windows 8.1 and LTE. HP is going to launch the Stream 8, but the 1GB ram scares me. I would prefer this one.

  2. woah easy with the labeling buddy..2nd part of your reply were sufficient enough.

  3. Wonder if you could install Windows on one of these. Would definitely be interested if you could.

      1. Its not stupid, how many $200 1080p windows tablets do you know of?

  4. I was just about the buy the Galaxy Pro (I think) 8.4 at Best Buy the other day, glad I waited. I really didn’t want to deal with TouchWiz, and this is almost a hundred bucks cheaper.

  5. I would wait a week or two to see what the next Nexus tablet has to offer. This does seem like a good price if you are looking for an 8″ Android tablet though.

  6. An attractive price but I would want to know more about the screen quality before buying. Nice, high resolution but that’s not the whole story when it comes to screens. Also, how does the CPU stack up performance wise versus the competition?
